Thursday Night Loaded with Games in North Carolina

By Patrick O'Brien

Thursday night in North Carolina might not only be the start of college football but also a night full of high school football.  Throughout the state, there isn’t an areas that won’t have a game going on, as Carolina Gridiron wants to provide you with some must-see matchups if you are in the area, along with others going on throughout North Carolina.
Undefeated Matchups
Broughton (2-0) at Eastern Guilford (2-0)
Southern Nash (2-0) at Bunn (2-0)
West Brunswick (2-0) at North Myrtle Beach (2-0)
James Kenan (1-0) at Wallace-Rose Hill (2-0)
Jones Senior (1-0) at Union (1-0)
Terry Sanford (2-0) at Jack Britt (2-0)

POB’s Top Thursday Night Games
- Southern Nash vs Bunn – Southern Nash took down Bunn in a tight one at home last year, 21-13.  Southern Nash will look to run the ball, as they are averaging 305 yards on the ground.  Bunn is starting out right early and hope to enjoy another offensive explosion like last week when they scored 70 points.
- James Kenan vs Wallace-Rose Hill – Taquqan Henry will get the bulk of the carries after coming off a 206 yard performance.  For Wallace-Rose, Aliza Carter can get it done running and throwing.  Overall through, it should be a battle between two great teams, as Wallace-Rose Hill’s only loss came to James Kenan last season.
- Terry Sanford vs Jack Britt – Terry Sanford is becoming a name in the state of North Carolina this season, but will get a true test against Jack Britt on Thursday night.  Jack Britt has been able to come away with two close wins, while Terry Sanford has been led by a balanced attack by quarterback Christian Jayne and running back James Jordan.
- South Point vs Shelby – This one has to have your interest, as Malik Sarratt will look to continue his hot start (285.5 ypg, seven touchdowns) against a tough South Point team who is coming off a tough OT loss to Lincolnton last week.  Jake Alexander will look to run the ball against a strong defense in Shelby.
