CURRITUCK RECEIVER PUTS NAME IN RECORD BOOK

NCHSAA Release:

CURRITUCK RECEIVER PUTS NAME IN RECORD BOOK

BARCO — A Currituck High School receiver recently had a phenomenal game that has put his name in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association Record Book.

Senior wide receiver Dakwon Foreman had one for the ages in a close game against Hertford. The Currituck receiver caught 11 passes, but they were for a whopping 360 yards, including touchdown plays that wound up covering 98 and 99 yards. That would be the most yards receiving in a single game ever by an NCHSAA receiver.

The Knights had 418 yards through the air in a 27-23 victory.

Foreman’s total eclipses the previous mark of 357 yards by West Bladen’s Malcolm Vaught, who compiled that receiving yardage in a 44-20 loss to Fayetteville Terry Sanford in 2012.

Our thanks to coach John Wheeler of Currituck for providing the record application and complete documentation.
