Mallard Creek's North Player of the Week

Wide receiver Marquez North of Mallard Creek has been named the Carolina Gridiron Player of the Week for Week 5.  The preseason All-Gridiron wide receiver led his Maverick team to a 56-11 win over conference foe Mooresville last week.

North started off the night of fireworks for the Mavericks with a 62 yard run off the right side for a touchdown on the first play of the night.  North found the end zone three more times during the night.

North has drawn interest from a host of BCS schools, including almost every team in the ACC, SEC, and Big Ten.

Mallard Creek hosts Lake Norman in I-Meck conference action this Friday.
